UniWire 1.3 Release Notes

UniWire support for ProTools! Finally! There is support for Pro Tools via the RTAS UniWire Plug-in in this release. Now you can off-load power-hungry plug-ins to your Receptor and run them "virtually" using the RTAS UniWire plug-in. Even better, Mac users can take advantage of the immense world of Windows-based VST plug-ins on your ProTools rig!

Known issue in UniWire 1.3:

  • When running VST and AU versions of UniWire on DUAL CORE (only) Macintosh computers, you can experience dropped buffers in Cubase 4 or 5 as well as Digital Performer 5 or 6. We will release a new UniWire VST and AU plug-in to deal with this problem in the near future.

UniWire 1.2 Release Notes

UniWire Support for Multicore Processors
Included in the Receptor Tools package, which is required for Receptor v1.7+, is UniWire 1.2. Aside from fixing several bugs and improving overall compatibility, UniWire 1.2\'s most obvious new capability is that it works with multi-core processors. You no longer have to disable multi-core support in your host application in order to use UniWire.

Macintosh OS X Specific Notes

UniWire with MOTU Digital Performer 5.1 or greater

Digital Performer must always be run in real-time mode to use UniWire. This is only a concern for UniWire instances on hard disk (recorded audio) tracks. In order to do this, take the following steps:

  • If the UniWire editor window is not already open, open it by double clicking on the UniWire FX slot in the mixer.
  • Click the Digital Performer menu button on the frame of the UniWire editor (immediately to the right of the close button). This should produce a drop-down menu.
  • Select "Always run in real-time" from the drop-down menu.

UniWire with Intel and PowerPC Macs

If a project has previously been saved on a PowerPC Macintosh (G4, G5) and is then loaded on an Intel Macintosh, the UniWire instances will not retain their settings. The same is true of loading an Intel Macintosh project file on a PowerPC Macintosh.

UniWire with Ableton Live 5

It is strongly recommended that users of Ableton Live use the Audio Unit version of UniWire and not the VST, as the VST version will cause dropouts when looping segments.

UniWire with Logic 7.2.3 or greater
(earlier versions of Logic are not supported)

There are not any known issues.

Windows Specific Notes
