Receptor from Muse Research makes wide use of open source software in its implementation. Open source software is developed under a new "community based" model, where developers around the world share the results of their development and debugging efforts. And such software is distributed with source code included --- not just the binary-only format that software is usually distributed as.
Muse Research is a part of this community, both as a contributor and as a beneficiary. Please visit www.opensource.org for more information about this revolutionary new development and distribution model.
The software itself is presented under an array of open source licenses with various requirements. In an effort to further open source development and to satisfy the requirements of certain open source licenses, all of the open source software used in Receptor is available here for free download.
Specifically, Receptor is based on the Linux operating system, and as such, part or all of that particular code may be administered under the GNU General Public License.
The particular code in Receptor that is adherent to the GPL can also be obtained on CD by paying a $39.95 fee for burning, packaging, and mailing the disk. If you wish to purchase a copy of the source code on CD please contact us to arrange payment and delivery.
