Muse Research Announces New Appointments To Their Board Of Directors

Marcus Sorenson, Matt Christiano, Pat Alagia join board

NASHVILLE, TN. July 18, 2003—Muse Research today announced several new appointments to their Board of Directors, including Marcus Sorenson, founder of Mackie Designs and President of Cal West marketing, Matt Christiano, founder of Globetrotter Software and former CTO of Macrovision, and Pat Alagia, MD / Vice Chair at Virginia Hospital Center and investment advisor.

Talented Board Supplements Veteran Team of Founders
The three gentlemen appointed to the board join a team of music industry veterans, focussed on bridging the gap between music technology and the creative process. The company, based in Menlo Park, California, develops technology that enhances the operation of music software in form factors that musicians find much easier to use and more suitable to the act of composing and performing music. The company was founded in 2001 by Chris Halaby, who was a co-founder of Opcode software.

Board Members represent diverse range of experience
The new board members add a significant amount of both business and technical experience to the company:

Marcus Sorenson is a music industry pioneer himself, having been a founding investor in Mackie Designs and served on their board from 1990 through 2001. His diverse background in marketing, sales, and management as well as his significant channel experience in both the Professional Audio and Consumer Electronics markets will be invaluable to the company.

Matt Christiano is a pioneer in the field of license management, having founded Globetrotter Software, creators of FlexLm license management technology. Globetrotter was acquired by Macrovision, the world’s leader in IP protection technology in the consumer space, where Matt served as CTO until retiring in 2002.

Dr. Damian Paul Alagia is currently the Vice Chair at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington as well as a clinical instructor at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. Dr. Alagia is also active as a consultant with such companies as Johnson and Johnson and Eli Lilly.

"We are extremely pleased to have such a talented group of individuals join our board” comments Chris Halaby, Muse Research’s President and CEO. "We look forward to working with them to grow our company as we pursue our vision of making music technology powerful yet easy to use by all musicians” he concludes.
