Greetings from Muse Research!

Seasons Greetings to all our friends out there in Receptorland. We sincerely hope that this special time of the year will fill you with joy, peace, and blessings of the season.

As the year draws to a close, we're able to take stock of some of the things that have taken place, as well as making plans for the years that approaches. There is definitely a lot of news to share with you about Receptor, so let's get to it!

Komplete 5 Now Available On Receptor

Komplete 5 is now available in our Receptor with Komplete Inside model. Even better, the price has gone down as a result of the decrease in price of Komplete! Concerned that you just picked up a Receptor with Komplete Inside with Komplete 4 installed? Don't worry – Native Instruments offers low cost or even free upgrades depending on when you purchased your unit. Please contact Native Instruments for more details, or contact us about how to go about it.

Receptor with Komplete Inside

Several new plug-ins now shipping:

The AES show in New York saw the introduction of several NEW plug-ins running on Receptor. Below is a short list:

Special, limited-time upgrade offer to Rev C hardware

Receptor UpgradesAs we look towards the New Year, we see a new software release that will allow you to exploit faster SATA drives on your Receptor. However, if you have a Rev A (serial numbers starting in A401) or Rev B Receptor (Serial numbers staring with A402 through A409) then unfortunately, you won't be able to take advantage of this enhancement. In order to take advantage of all that our future software release will offer, you will need to have a Rev C motherboard and processor on your Receptor.

Since Muse Research really doesn't want to leave anyone behind as we continue to advance the Receptor platform, we are offering a special, limited-time upgrade offer for owners of Rev A and Rev B Receptors.

It could be that you are perfectly happy with your Receptor and aren't looking to get any more performance from it, even though the Rev C is faster, quieter, and will support many of the enhancements we plan in the future. So if you were thinking of upgrading to Rev C in the future, NOW IS THE TIME to do it, and to help you decide, we are offering special pricing on all upgrades for a LIMITED TIME ONLY!

Muse Research Receives the Remix Technology Award!

Remix just announced that Receptor with Komplete Inside receives their Remix Technology Award for 2008! The editors of Remix determined that Receptor with its unique all-in-one and road-worthy design combined with the incredible power of Native Instrument's Komplete 5 collection of virtual instruments and effects was simply too good not to receive a technology award. Actually, with Receptor running Guitar Rig 3, Kontakt 3, and Massive along with the perennial favorites Absynth 4, Elektrik Piano, Akoustik Piano, FM8, B4-II, Reaktor, Battery 3, and PRO53, its the customer who really wins! The award will be presented at next month's NAMM show in Anaheim California. Also look for a comprehensive review of Receptor with Komplete Inside happening in Remix very soon!

RECEPTOUR News

Lots of tours are out and about this Holiday season, including the traditional and utterly amazing Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas show. Tori Amos continues her world tour in the U.S. with Receptor providing piano sounds (except when she plays solo in which case you hear her actual Bösendorfer). Other tours using Receptor include The Eagles who are touring in support of a brand new hit CD, Crowded House who is finishing up their European tour in preparation for their much-anticipated homecoming down-under, and Billy Joel who is proving that its only rock and roll to him throughout the States. Foreigner is rocking venues throughout Europe prior to opening for the much-anticipated Led Zeppelin reunion at London's O2 arena on December 10th. The Foo Fighters are finishing up their European leg, supporting their new grammy-nominated CD. And the Goo Goo Dolls are doing one-off dates including a half time show at a recent NFL football game on national TV before returning to the studio for a new album! The Broadway hit show Legally Blonde, the Musical is being aired on MTV, with a vast majority of the keyboard sounds provided by Receptor. Rumor has it that the new Mel Brooks show is using Receptors as well… Speaking of New York, percussionist and Alternate Mode president Mario DeCuittius is using two Receptors, two mallet Kats, two drumKats, and two PanKats to cover all the parts in the new score of The Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular!

Other bits and bobs:

John Emrick showed the BFD Turbo Receptor at the PASIC show last month. John has a new marching percussion library for BFD that is fairly mind-blowing, including some unbelievable bass drum samples that will be all over various film sound tracks this time next year, me thinks!

The Charlotte Martin interview is on the Muse Research web site. Be sure to check out how this talented woman uses her Receptor both live and in the studio with engineer / husband Ken Andrews.

Muse Research is looking for some motivated individuals to help us out with beta testing. Ben will be posting a database form on line in the next week or two, if you are interested please sign up. You'll be able to get the newest of the new running on your Receptor and help us make Receptor a better product... stay tuned.

On behalf of everyone here at Muse Research, we wish you the happiest of holidays and a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year!
