Gregory Simpson's keen awareness of the user's perspective has made him a successful designer of many innovative media products for over 20 years. Mr. Simpson co-founded Muse Research and conceived and designed Receptor. He has also worked on the design and user-interface for many award-winning music industry products, including Studio Vision, Overture, Galaxy, and fusion:FX. He's a sound designer, composer, photographer, and graphic designer with a degree in electrical engineering and a passion for media.
Prior to working with Muse Research, Greg was lead media and entertainment products designer for Be, Inc. Before that, he had been Director of Product Design, Director of Technical Publications, and Creative Director with Opcode Systems. Previously, he worked as an audio design engineer for Ford Motor Company and, more years ago than he'd care to remember, Greg owned and operated a sound design company called Sardonic Sounds. He also experienced minor cult success as the composer, instrumentalist, and producer with his band, Grace Darling, and he continues to create music, soundscapes, products, and documentation for his Vancouver-based company, ULTRAsomething.com.
